Rwanda Rugby 15s national league finals head to Nyirangarama Stadium this Saturday

After intense 8 months of competition, the Rwanda Rugby 15s National Championship for both women and men will reach its climax on Saturday, February 14, 2026, with the finals scheduled to take place at Nyirangarama Stadium in Rulindo District, Northern Province.

The finals will begin with third-place playoff matches.

From 9:00 AM, Kamonyi Panthers Women RFC will face Burera Tigers RFC in the women’s category.

This will be followed by the men’s third-place match between Kigali Sharks RFC and Gitisi TSS at 11:00 AM.

The decisive final will begin at 1:00 PM, Ruhango Zebras Women RFC take on 1000 Hills Rugby in the women’s, while the men’s final will see Lions de Fer RFC take on 1000 Hills RFC from 3:00 PM.

Last season, Lions de Fer RFC claimed the men’s title after defeating Resilience RFC, while Ruhango Zebras Women RFC secured the women’s title with a victory over Kamonyi Panthers RFC.

The 2026 Rugby Championship is sponsored by Friends of Rwandan Rugby and is organized by the Rwanda Rugby Federation, in collaboration with key partners including the Ministry of Sports (Minisports) and the Rwanda National Olympic Committee.

This Saturday, Rugby fans are encouraged to attend and celebrate the successful conclusion of the championship and the continued growth of the sport in Rwanda.

Notably, this edition marks the first time that the Rugby 15s National Championship finals being hosted outside the City of Kigali, reflecting a strategic effort to promote and expand Rugby across the country.
