Yvonne Masengesho secures Bronze at the 2025 Road Cycling Championships

Rwand's Yvonne Masengesho has officially launched its Medal campaign in the 2025 CAC Road Cycling African Championships held in Kenya.

Yvonne delivered a brilliant and courageous ride to secure Rwanda’s first Medal of the championships, placing herself among the continent’s finest in the women’s category.

The race showcased the growing strength of African women’s cycling, with an elite podium representing three of the continent’s most competitive nations.

She has sealed the Bronze Medal after timed 20 Minutes and 22 Seconds.

In this category, Ethiopia's Tsige Kiros and Eritrea's Tesfu Adyam claim Gold and Silver respectively.

Yvonne fought hard to secure third place, giving Rwanda a memorable and inspiring start to the 2025 CAC Championships.

This podium finish is more than just a medal it highlights the incredible progress of women’s cycling in Rwanda and marks a promising beginning for Team Rwanda as the championship unfolds.

Over 300 cyclists from 30 nations will face off at the 19th edition of Confederation of Africa Cycling (CAC) Road Cycling Africa Championships to be flagged off on Thursday in Diani, Kwale County.

The four-day championships will run until Sunday with top riders chasing the pink and white jerseys reserved for continental champions.

Kenya is hosting the event for the second year running after organizing last year’s edition dominated by Eritrea and South Africa in Eldoret and Iten.
