Volleyball: RRA VC unveils 4 new players ahead of the 2025-26 season
RRA Volleyball Club (RRA VC) officially unveiled four new signings, renewing contracts for two others, ahead of the 2025/2026 Volleyball Championship which is set to begin on October 17, 2025.
The new players joining RRA VC include Madut Abuk Wol Ngong from South Sudan, alongside Rwandans Ndagijimana Nancy, Uwase Hygette, and Umuhuzanase Celine Dion both from Musanze's Wisdom VC.
Jennifer Tembo from Zimbabwe and Ukpabi Elisabeth Ijeoma from Nigeria extended their contracts.
During the signing and welcoming ceremony, Mr. Uwitonze Jean Paulin, President of RRA VC, commended all players who chose to be part of the team and urged them to uphold discipline and teamwork in order to bring pride and success to the club.
“We urge you to maintain good conduct and discipline both on and off the court. If you work together as a team and fight for victory as one unit, there is no doubt you will win trophies,” he said.
Head Coach Mutabazi Elie expressed his confidence in the team’s preparation, emphasizing that the current squad is better prepared than last season and that the new players will significantly strengthen the team’s performance.
“We are conducting more advanced training sessions. I believe the new players will help us raise the team’s level and return to the top form we are aiming for,” he said.
The Volleyball Championship is scheduled to kick off on Friday, October 17, 2025, with RRA VC playing its first match on Saturday, against Ruhango WVC.
In the following week, on October 24, 2025, RRA VC will face Police WVC.
The first phase of the championship is expected to conclude on December 6, 2025, with RRA VC wrapping up the round against APR WVC on December 5, 2025.
RRA VC is one of Rwanda’s leading volleyball clubs, boasting over 17 years of experience and excellence in the sport.
Throughout its history, the team has claimed numerous titles, including 10 titles of Rwanda Volleyball National Championship, the Memorial Kayumba Championships in 2014, 2017, 2020, and 2022, as well as the NSSF KAVC 2024 trophy, among others.
