The Rwanda Boxing Federation is set to launch the 2026 Championship this Sunday, 8 March, bringing together the nation’s top amateur boxers for an action-packed new season.
Held at Kimisagara Gymnasium from 3 p.m, the competition will feature 50 of Rwanda’s best amateur boxers, representing eight of the country’s top clubs.
The clubs are namely Nyamirambo BC, Inkuba BC, The Real BC, Kimisagara BC, Amahoro BC, Isata BC, Kigali BC and Bodymax BC.
After 10 consecutive weeks, fans will witness a total of 140 thrilling bouts, with 14 matches each week.
The championship follows a round-robin format in each weight category, ensuring that every boxer faces all opponents in their division, while no athlete competes more than once per day.
Following the league phase, the top three boxers in each category will advance to the knockout rounds.
Semi-finals will pit the second- and third-placed athletes against each other, with the winner facing the first-placed boxer in the finals.
The final league day on 10 May 2026 will determine the semi-finalists and set the stage for championship glory.
Organizers promise a spectacular showcase of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, offering a platform for emerging talent to shine on the national stage.
With eight clubs, 50 elite fighters, and 10 weeks of non-stop action, the 2026 Rwanda Boxing Championship is poised to be one of the country’s most exciting sporting events of the year.
The Rwanda Boxing Federation promises an electrifying season of skill, discipline, and sportsmanship, culminating in the crowning of champions across all weight categories.
