Unlike traditional Karate styles, Kyokushinryu is a full-contact martial art where fighters engage in real combat, utilizing a combination of punches and kicks.
Kyokushinryu was founded in 1964 by Master Masutatsu Oyama, also known as Mas Oyama, who held both Korean and Japanese nationalities.
Oyama developed this style after studying various martial arts and seeking a more powerful and realistic form of karate.
Kyokushinryu is a style of Karate originating in Japan. It is a full-contact style of stand-up fighting and is rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline, and hard training.
Since 1964, the style has continued to spread to more than 120 countries, becoming one of the largest martial arts organizations in the world, and in Japan itself.
