Kenya to host 2026 CAVB Zone 5 club championship

The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Zone V Executive has officially awarded the hosting rights for the 2026 Zone V Club Championship (Men & Women) to the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF).

The decision follows a competitive bidding process involving Uganda, Ethiopia, and Kenya, with the Zone V leadership expressing appreciation to all three countries for their strong interest in staging the prestigious regional event.

According to the official communication signed by CAVB Zone V President Sadik Z. Nasiwu, the championship will run from 9th to 15th February 2026, with teams expected to arrive on 8th February for the technical meeting.

Departures are scheduled for 16th February 2026. For this upcoming edition, the top 3 teams from each national league will take part.

The tournament will bring together top men’s and women’s volleyball clubs from across the Zone V region, promising high-level competition and regional volleyball unity.

Further details, including venues, fixtures, and logistics, will be released by the organizers in due course.

CAVB Zone 5 is the volleyball zone for the Confédération Africaine de Volleyball (CAVB) that includes 12 countries: Burundi, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda.

The annual tourney considered as a major Volleyball tournament that draws clubs from these member nations.

APR Men and Women are the defending champions of the previous edition held in Uganda.
