Yannick Mukunzi ends Six-Year spell with Sandvikens IF

Rwandan defensive midfielder Yannick Mukunzi has officially announced his departure from Swedish club Sandvikens IF, bringing an end to a six-year stint that began in 2019 when he joined from Rayon Sports.

Mukunzi confirmed the news through a heartfelt message on his Instagram account, thanking the club, staff, teammates, and supporters for their support throughout his time in Sweden.

In his farewell message, Mukunzi wrote:“Since joining in 2019, you welcomed me, believed in me, and made this journey unforgettable. It’s not easy for me to say goodbye, because over the years Sandvikens IF has truly become a family to me… 

To the management, coaches, teammates, fans, and everyone who has been part of this family, thank you for the love, the trust, and the incredible moments we shared.”

The 30-year-old midfielder leaves the club without publicly revealing his next career move, stating only that he is ready for the “next step” in his professional journey.

Mukunzi, a a member of the Rwanda national team, remains a respected figure both in Swedish football circles and in his home country.
