Tottenham Hotspur are accelerating their efforts to sign Andy Robertson, while Aston Villa are closing in on the arrival of Tammy Abraham in a busy period of transfer activity for both clubs.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Tottenham Hotspur are now pushing to sign Andy Robertson with immediate effect.
Following reports from The Athletic, it is understood that a verbal agreement has already been reached between the player and Spurs.
Discussions have now moved to the club-to-club negotiation stage, with Tottenham keen to finalize the deal as quickly as possible as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham is on his way to Aston Villa, with Fabrizio Romano confirming the move with his trademark “Here we go!”
Abraham has reached a verbal agreement in principle, after personal terms were agreed several days ago. The deal is valued at €21 million plus add-ons, and will also include Yasin Özcan as part of the agreement.
Villa’s directors are currently in Turkey to formally seal the deal and complete the remaining steps of the transfer.
Both transfers underline the ambition of Tottenham and Aston Villa in the current window, with Spurs targeting defensive reinforcements and Villa moving decisively to bolster their attacking options ahead of the upcoming campaign.
