Rwanda coaches start elite nine-month training with Atlético Madrid

A significant new phase in the development of football in Rwanda is now underway, as 13 local coaches have officially embarked on an intensive nine-month training program in partnership with Atlético Madrid.

The initiative marks a strategic investment in coaching education, aimed at elevating the quality of football across the country.

Already in progress, the program is designed to enhance both the technical expertise and tactical understanding of Rwandan coaches.

By aligning local training methods with internationally recognized standards, the initiative seeks to modernize coaching approaches and strengthen the overall foundation of the sport.

It reflects a clear commitment to long-term development rather than short-term success.

Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that blends classroom-based learning with practical, on-field experience.

Theoretical sessions will cover key aspects such as game analysis, player development, and modern coaching methodologies. 

These lessons will be reinforced through hands-on training, allowing coaches to apply what they learn in real football environments.

A key highlight of the program is the opportunity for selected participants to travel to Spain, where they will gain direct exposure to one of Europe’s top football systems through Atlético Madrid.
