Laporta re-elected FC Barcelona President until 2031

Joan Laporta has secured a convincing victory in the latest FC Barcelona presidential election, earning a third mandate that will see him lead the Catalan club until 2031.

The result marks a strong endorsement from the club’s members, who backed Laporta’s leadership by a wide margin and reaffirmed their confidence in the direction he has set for one of the world’s most iconic football institutions.

Laporta received more than 68 percent of the vote, comfortably defeating his closest rival Victor Font in a contest that drew significant attention from Barcelona supporters.

When he first returned to the presidency in 2021, Barcelona was facing serious economic challenges, including significant debt and strict financial restrictions.
