FIFA Series 2026: Constantine’s return fuels Amavubi’s 4-0 rout of Grenada
Stephen Constantine made a triumphant return to the touchline as Rwanda’s national team delivered a commanding 4–0 victory over Grenada in the FIFA Series 2026 on home soil.

The match, played at Amahoro Stadium and attended by Paul Kagame, marked a strong for Constantine in his first game since reassuming control of Rwanda national football team.

The result secured Rwanda a place in the Group A final, where they will face Estonia national football team.

Rwanda’s goals came from Leroy-Jacques Mickels, Kwizera Jojea, Bizimana Djihad, and Hakim Sahabo, capping a dominant performance that underlined the team’s renewed attacking confidence.

The breakthrough came late in the first half when Mickels unleashed a powerful long-range strike that left Grenada’s goalkeeper with no chance.

Moments later, Jojea doubled the lead with a composed finish following a clever assist, sending the home crowd into celebration.

After the break, Rwanda maintained control of the game.

Captain Djihad extended the advantage with a well-placed effort from outside the penalty area, exploiting poor positioning from the opposition.

Sahabo then completed the rout, calmly finishing to register his first international goal since debuting in 2023.

The emphatic win is particularly notable as it marks the first time in several years that Rwanda has scored four goals in a single match, signaling a resurgence in offensive form.

It also reflects Constantine’s immediate influence, combining tactical discipline with attacking intent.

Emerging talents such as Uwineza Rene, who made his debut, added further promise to a squad blending youth and experience.

The performance will raise expectations ahead of the final clash against Estonia, who progressed after edging Kenya national football team on penalties.

Kenya will face Grenada in the third-place playoff, while attention turns to whether Amavubi can maintain their momentum and secure the Group A title on Monday.
