FERWAFA meets U17 & U20 teams ahead of 2026 leagues

The Fédération Rwandaise de Football Association (FERWAFA) held a strategic meeting with the U17 and U20 boys’ and girls’ national youth teams ahead of the 2026 youth leagues, reaffirming its strong commitment to talent identification and development across the country.

Chaired by the Commissioner for Technical Matters and Development, the session focused on aligning coaches and technical staff with the federation’s long-term vision for youth football.

The meeting also included the distribution of footballs to support team preparations ahead of the upcoming competitions.

The U17 and U20 leagues are scheduled to kick off on 21st and 28th February 2026, respectively, and will be organized in zonal formats to enhance accessibility, increase participation, and strengthen grassroots structures nationwide.

The initiative marks another important step toward identifying, nurturing, and developing Rwanda’s next generation of football talent.
