Brig Gen Rusanganwa’s tenure ends after 13 Months at APR FC
Brig Gen Deo Rusanganwa, who had been serving as the Chairman of APR FC for the past 13 months, has been removed from his position.
The news started circulating on Tuesday afternoon and was confirmed by a source within the club.
Brig Gen Deo Rusanganwa, who is also the Commander of the Rwanda Defence Force’s 2nd Division, had been leading APR FC since November 2024, when he replaced Col (Rtd) Richard Karasira.
APR FC has not yet released an official statement regarding these leadership changes, but information indicates that Col (Rtd) Vincent Mugisha, who is the club’s Secretary General, is the one taking over in an acting.
During his one year and one month in office, Brig Gen Deo Rusanganwa helped APR FC win treble domestic trophies, the Rwanda Premier League title, the Peace Cup and the Heroes Cup.
He leaves the Army-owned club currently in second place in the league, four points behind Police FC, which is on top of the table and has one game in hand.
