Gilbert Mugisha scores Fourth Goal for Amavubi's jersey

APR Football Club's right winger Gilbert Mugisha found the back of the net for the fourth time in his international career helping Rwanda's national team Amavubi edge out Zimbabwe 1-0 in their World Cup qualifying match.

The game took place at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg on matchday 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Mugisha's goal in the 40th minute made all the difference giving Rwanda's qualification dreams new life.

This win comes as a much-needed lift for the Amavubi after their 1-0 defeat to Nigeria in Uyo.

Mugisha, who stood out as one of the best player at the night, has now scored four times in his 21 games for the national team.

With this win, Rwanda climbs to 11 points putting them in fourth place in the group.

They now have the same number of points as Nigeria making the race to qualify even tighter.
