FERWAFA's Super Cup prize money doubled ahead of 2025 showdown

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) has announced that teams winning the FERWAFA Super Cup 2024-25 in both men’s and women’s competitions will share a total prize fund of 60 million Rwandan Francs (RWF).

This was revealed during yesterday's press briefing organized by FERWAFA to provide updates on preparations for the much-anticipated tournament.

FERWAFA’s Second Vice President, Richard Mugisha, vows the prize money for participating teams has been increased and that the Super Cup date will now be announced earlier than before.

“All teams, both men’s and women’s, will receive 20 million RWF as the winner’s prize. The runner-up will receive 10 million RWF. Starting next year, we want the Super Cup date to be known well in advance, just like other competitions”, he said

The FERWAFA Super Cup 2024-25 match is scheduled for January 10, 2026, at Stade Amahoro.

In the women’s category, Rayon Sports WFC, winners of the Rwandan Women’s Championship, will face Indahangarwa, the 2024-25 Amahoro Cup champions.

In the men’s category, APR FC, winners of both the Rwandan Premier League and the 2024/25 Amahoro Cup, will face Rayon Sports, whom they defeated in both competitions.

The winners will earns 20 million RWF with Trophy, while the runners-up will earn 10 Million RWF.

In 2024, the winning team of the Super Cup received 10 million RWF, while the runners-up received 5 million RWF.

The prize money for the 2025 edition has therefore been significantly increased.
