Boxing: PFL Africa heads to Rwanda for Historic Semi – Finals

The Professional Fighters League [PFL] has officially announced the full fight card for the inaugural PFL Africa Tournament Semifinals, set to take place on Saturday, October 18 at the iconic BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

This landmark event, which will determine the finalists in the Heavyweight, Welterweight, Featherweight, and Bantamweight divisions, marks the biggest MMA spectacle ever staged in East Africa a testament to Rwanda’s rising profile as a hub for world-class sports and entertainment.

After thrilling debuts in Cape Town and Johannesburg, Africa’s top MMA fighters are now headed to “The Land of a Thousand Hills”, with their eyes firmly set on the grand finale in Benin, where the first-ever PFL Africa champions will be crowned this December.

Powered by Tour Rwanda, and broadcast across the continent via SuperSport and Canal+, this event signals a new chapter in African combat sports. 

With 11 bouts scheduled including eight semi-final matchups, two alternate fights, and one showcase feature the stakes are sky-high, and the action promises to be non-stop.

PFL Africa is part of the league’s rapid global expansion and showcases its signature “win and advance” tournament format.

Adding to the excitement, Rwanda’s own James Opio (2-1) returns home for a Featherweight Showcase Fight against undefeated Ugandan prospect Isaac Omeda (2-0).
