Rayon Sports came from behind to secure a 1–1 draw against Al-Hilal SC in an entertaining BK Pro League Matchday 8 encounter at Kigali Pelé Stadium, with substitute Muhoza Daniel scoring a late equaliser to deny the Sudanese side all three points.
The match, played on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, saw Al-Hilal take the lead in the first half before Rayon produced a determined second-half performance to earn a share of the points.
Al-Hilal opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through Mohamed Abdelrhman Yousif Yagub, who capitalised on an attacking opportunity to put the visitors ahead.
Rayon had started positively, with Kameni Junior testing Al-Hilal goalkeeper Soufiane Farid Ouédraogo as early as the second minute.
The home side continued to push forward, creating several opportunities, particularly through Iradukunda Elie Tatou, Issa Djiguiba and Sandja.
In the 19th minute, Al-Hilal threatened through Ahmed Salem, whose effort went over the crossbar.
The Sky Blues of Kigali responded by putting the visitors under pressure, winning four consecutive corners around the 21st and 23rd minutes.
Tatou came close to finding an equaliser in the 24th minute, but his powerful effort was saved by Farid.
Djiguiba also had an opportunity from the resulting attacking move, although his effort went narrowly wide.
Despite Rayon’s attacking efforts, Al-Hilal maintained their defensive organisation and went into the interval with a 1–0 advantage.
Al Hilal made an attacking change at the beginning of the second half, introducing Ansumana Samura for Adama Coulibali, while Rayon forced to replace the injured Mohamed Ouattara with Nshuti Didier in the 51st minute.
They continued to threaten, with Samura missing a promising opportunity in the 49th minute after shooting over the crossbar when well positioned in front of goal.
Rayon gradually increased their attacking pressure as the match progressed.
Muhoza Daniel was introduced for Sandja in the 68th minute, while Nkundimana Fabio replaced Issa Djiguiba ten minutes later as coach Francis Haringingo sought to strengthen his team's attacking options.
He equalised in the 69th minute when Muderi Akbar delivered a dangerous ball into the penalty area, but Al-Hilal goalkeeper Farid intervened to prevent Rayon from scoring.
Al-Hilal also had opportunities to extend their advantage, particularly through Samura, whose effort in the 57th minute was denied by Rayon goalkeeper Junior Dande.
The decisive moment finally arrived in the 89th minute when Muhoza Daniel produced a powerful strike to beat Farid and bring Rayon back into the contest.
His goal sparked celebrations among the home supporters and rewarded Rayon’s persistence after spending much of the second half searching for an equaliser.
Eight minutes of added time were played, but neither side managed to find a winner.
Rayon defender Tchouplaou Tchitongou Charles received a yellow card in the 90+6th minute before the referee brought the encounter to an end at 1–1.
Muhoza Daniel was named Man of the Match following his influential contribution, particularly his late equalising goal.
