Rayon Sports came from a difficult spell to claim a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Marine FC, with Junior Kameni scoring twice in their BK Pro League Matchday Seven encounter at Stade Umuganda on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

The forward’s second-half strike proved decisive as the Blues secured three important points on the road, ending Marine FC’s impressive run and boosting their position in the league standings.

Playing in front of a large crowd at Stade Umuganda, Rayon Sports made a positive start and put pressure on the hosts from the opening minutes.

Their early dominance paid off in the 15th minute when Kameni opened the scoring after Marine goalkeeper Kabera Bonheur failed to deal convincingly with a situation in his penalty area.

Marine, however, responded positively and gradually found their rhythm.

The hosts created several attacking opportunities before drawing level in the 27th minute through Niyibizi Ramadhan, who unleashed a powerful long-range effort to beat Rayon goalkeeper Dande Junior.

The equaliser brought renewed confidence to Marine, who attempted to take control of the contest.

Rayon remained dangerous going forward, with Iradukunda Elie Tatou coming close to restoring their lead in the 37th minute.

His powerful effort struck the woodwork before goalkeeper Kabera denied Muderi Akbar’s attempt to turn in the rebound.

Both sides went into the half-time break level at 1-1 after an entertaining opening period that featured several attacking opportunities.

Following the restart, Rayon introduced Hakizimana Zuberi in place of Muhoza Daniel as head coach Francis Haringingo looked to strengthen his team’s attacking approach.

Rayon Sports continued searching for a second goal, with Muderi Akbar testing the Marine defence while Kameni narrowly missed another opportunity.

Marine also remained competitive and threatened through Ramadhan and his teammates, but their attacking efforts lacked the finishing touch needed to take the lead.

The decisive moment arrived in the 70th minute when Marine goalkeeper Nshimyumuremyi Vincent made a costly mistake while attempting to play the ball out from the back.

His pass went directly to Kameni, who capitalised on the opportunity, went past defender Bishira Latif and calmly finished to put Rayon 2-1 ahead.

The goal proved decisive despite Marine’s late attempts to find an equaliser.

Rayon defended resolutely during the closing stages to protect their advantage and secure maximum points.

Kameni was subsequently named Player of the Match after his impressive brace, while Marine’s Niyibizi Ramadhan moved to five league goals, becoming the competition’s leading scorer.

The victory lifted Rayon Sports to seventh place with seven points, while Marine FC remained second with 11 points.

Elsewhere, Police FC defeated Bugesera FC 1-0 through Christian Ingabire's goal, while Gicumbi FC and Sunrise FC played out a goalless draw.

Rayon Sports will next face Al Hilal SC on November 4 as the BK Pro League continues with Matchday Eight fixtures.
