Nicolas Maniraguha extends Amagaju stay ahead of 2026–27 season

Rwandan Premier League side Amagaju FC have reaffirmed their faith in the club’s technical setup by extending the contract of goalkeeping coach Maniraguha Nicolas ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The renewal is viewed as an important step in maintaining continuity within the coaching staff as Amagaju prepare for another challenging campaign in Rwanda’s top flight.

The club believes Nicolas’ experience, professionalism and commitment have made a significant contribution to the development of its goalkeepers and the overall competitiveness of the team in recent seasons.

Since joining Amagaju FC, Nicolas has earned praise for his hands-on approach to coaching, focusing on improving shot-stopping, positioning, distribution, communication and decision-making among the club’s goalkeepers.

His training methods have helped raise standards within the squad, ensuring healthy competition for the number one jersey while giving the technical team confidence in the players available between the posts.

The club confirmed the contract extension through an official statement, expressing appreciation for Nicolas’ dedication and the positive influence he continues to have on the team’s progress.

“His professionalism, discipline and commitment to developing our goalkeepers have been invaluable. We are delighted to continue working together as we prepare for the new season”, the club said.

The renewal comes at a time when Amagaju FC are strengthening both their playing squad and technical department in an effort to improve on previous performances in the Rwanda Premier League.

Retaining key members of the coaching staff has been identified as one of the club's priorities, with stability seen as a foundation for achieving better results.

Based in Nyamagabe District in Rwanda’s Southern Province, Amagaju FC are among the country’s long-established football clubs and have built a reputation for nurturing talented local players while competing consistently in the top division.

Although the club has often battled against financially stronger rivals, Amagaju have remained respected for their disciplined style of play and commitment to youth development.

The club’s ambition is to establish itself as a regular contender for top-half finishes while challenging for domestic cup honours.

Achieving those objectives will require a solid defensive foundation, making the role of the goalkeeping department increasingly important throughout the season.

Nicolas, the contract extension represents another opportunity to continue building on the work he has started.

His responsibilities will include preparing the club’s goalkeepers physically, mentally and tactically, while working closely with the head coach and the rest of the technical staff to ensure defensive consistency across the squad.

As preparations intensify for the new campaign, Amagaju FC will hope that continuity within the coaching team, combined with strategic recruitment and the development of existing players, can translate into improved performances on the pitch.
