Manchester United release 9 Players ahead of 2025–26 Season

Manchester United’s squad is set for an enormous overhaul during the 2025 summer transfer window.

Manchester United have officially released nine players who have left the club on free transfers, with veteran Premier League trio Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelöf all departing.

Eriksen made 108 appearances for Man Utd during his tenure after joining from Brentford in 2022 as an Erik ten Hag signing.

The 33-year-old Dane scored in his final appearance on the final day of the Premier League season against Aston Villa.

Lindelöf, 30, was one of the longest tenured Man Utd players after Jose Mourinho signed the Swede in 2017.

He, alongside Eriksen, was part of Ten Hag’s FA Cup and Carabao Cup triumphs.

Evans, in his second stint with with the club, also received an FA Cup winner’s medal, and the Northern Irishman has taken on a new role at Old Trafford as head of loans and pathways.

Tom Heaton was expected by some to depart at the end of his contract this summer but has instead signed a fresh one-year deal with Man Utd as the club’s third-choice goalkeeper.

He’s made just three senior appearances for the Red Devils having initially come through their academy before permanently returning in 2021.

The other six players departing are all academy prospects, with Tom Wooster, James Nolan, Tom Myles, Sam Murray, Jack Kingdon and Hubert Graczyk all leaving.

Of the players linked with moves this summer, Man Utd retained Marcus Rashford, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho.

The club will look to cash in on those four over the summer as Ruben Amorim overhauls his squad.
