The match took place at Stade Center Ivoiro-Coreen, the players arrived early even though they looked tired but the Head Coach, Sindayigaya Aphrodice, said that they are ready and have confidence because the team they are playing against is less experienced than them.

“So far among the teams we will meet, Madagascar is not average considering its level. Although it is a competition, we are not afraid to win. We assure Rwandans that we will fight for victory.” He added

What he said was put into practice as the team did everything possible to win the game and even outscore their opponents Madagascar.

The youth team entered the game first and started to score very quickly, reaching the first half with a 15-goal of difference.

They continued to maintain this difference in the second half, at the end of which the Rwandan youths put in effort to defend even though they did not like Madagascar’s progress. The game ended with a score of 46-21.

New Zealand’s players were making individual mistakes while Rwanda was making the most of it, using Kayijamahe and Jean Pierre Ndayishimiye to score more goals.

New Zealand could have reduced the deficit in the last minute but it was not to be as Pringot Paul did not have the opportunity to pass the ball in front of goalkeeper Arsène Uwayezu.
