The Travel agency Sat Guru celebrated U-19 national team captain Gisele Ishimwe and Henriette Ishimwe for raising Rwandan flag high at the international scene.

The duo were part of the Rwandan team that impressed at the 2022 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Henriette Ishimwe’s performance at the World Cup saw her win the
March player of the month.

“It’s an honor. We really want to see more young women showcasing their talent not just in Cricket in other sports disciplines to achieve their dreams,” said Ishimwe.

Rwandan teenage sensation Henriette Ishimwe won the International Cricket Council’s women’s player of the match awards for March.

There are 17 years separating the two award-winning all-rounders after they both produced superb performances with bat and ball last month.

Ishimwe saw off the challenge of Papua New Guinea duo Sibona Jimmy and Ravini Oa to secure the prestigious prize.

At just 19 years old, the Rwandan has played close to 50 T20 internationals for her country as she showcased her talents in March.

Ishimwe excelled in last month’s Nigeria Cricket Federation’s women’s T20 international tournament where she took four wickets against Ghana and five versus Cameroon as well as notching 32 and 43 runs with the bat against the same teams.

After this award, Ishimwe said that:”I am humbled and honoured to win this award for my performances in the last month,”.

“I owe this award to the many people who have supported me throughout my journey in cricket.

“To my coaches, who have invested countless hours into my training and development, to my teammates, who have been my source of inspiration and motivation, and to my family and friends, who have always stood by me, and above all, the almighty God, who has made all this possible.

“I look forward to continuing to contribute to the world of cricket and win more matches for my country.”
