Rwanda Premier League: Denis Omedi’s goals help APR FC to edge Kiyovu Sports

APR Football Club showcased their resilience with a stunning comeback to defeat Kiyovu Sports 2-1 in the second phase of the Rwanda Premier League on Saturday.

The match started on a challenging note for APR, as Kiyovu’s Niyo David opened the scoring just 11 minutes in, putting the home side ahead.

However, the visitors quickly regained their composure, with Ugandan forward Denis Omedi spearheading the comeback.

Omedi leveled the score in the 25th minute, displaying his goal-scoring prowess. Just before halftime, he struck again in the 41st minute, securing his brace and granting APR a 2-1 lead going into the break.

His standout performance highlights Omedi’s growing impact since joining APR, and his critical contributions were key in helping the Army side achieve their first victory of the second phase.

This win lifts APR’s points tally to 34, placing them in second position in the league standings as they continue their pursuit of the title.

APR’s determination and Omedi’s exceptional play indicate positive prospects for the team’s ambitions as the season progresses.
