Champions League: Liverpool overpower Real Madrid to lead provisional table

0Shares

The Champions League knockout rounds are starting to appear on the horizon now that matchday five of the new ‘league phase’ is in the books.

A perfect Liverpool still lead the way after five wins from five, with 2023 finalists Inter also going strong narrowly behind.

But the table remains close, even with only three games left to play, as just three points separate Barcelona in third place from AC Milan in 16th.

The top 24 sides will all progress into the next stage of Europe’s elite club competition, but only the top eight will go straight into the last 16 and bypass an additional two-legged play-off round.
