Coach Frank Spittler has named a 26-man Amavubi squad for the upcoming CHAN preliminary game with Djibouti.
Rwanda will play Djibouti in the first leg of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) preliminary round in Kigali on October 27, 2024, while the second leg will take place on October 31, 2024.
Amavubi last participated in the CHAN finals in 2021 in Cameroon where they reached the quarter-finals and will be hoping to return to continental football.
Coach Spittler’s, which is dominated by APR FC players, will go all out to achieve their goal if they are to join Uganda and Tanzania after missing out on the 2023 edition.
However, the winner from the two legs of the first preliminary round match between Rwanda and Djibouti will take on the winner between Kenya and South Sudan in the second round late in December.
