Rwanda’s senior men’s national team, Amavubi, have left Kigali for Ivory Coast to honour their third group game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Benin.
Rwanda will play Benin on October 11, 2024, in the first leg and on October 15, 2024, in the second leg in Kigali at the Amahoro Stadium.
Amavubi kicked off their 2025 AFCON campaign with a draw in their first two games against Libya and Nigeria in Group D and will now be hoping to get their first three points.
Coach Torsten Frank Spittler is confident about the encounter and hoping to get a positive result away which he believes his team can do just that.
Benin defeated Rwanda nation 1-0 in a 2026 World Cup qualifiers encounter held at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny in Côte d’Ivoire in June of this year, and Coach Spittler will be hoping to get revenge.
Amavubi has named a strong 25-man squad for the doubleheader encounter against Benin as they aim to secure a win.
Both Benin and Rwanda have played 7 Games since 2010. Among them, Benin won 4 games (Total Goals 11, PPG 1.6), Rwanda won 1 (Total Goals 3, PPG 0.4), and drew 2.
Rwanda sits in third position in Group D with two points, having recorded two draws, while Benin sits in second place with three points from two games.
