Rwandan midfielder Yannick Mukunzi has undergone knee surgery and will miss the rest of the 2024 Swedish Superettan league season.
Mukunzi, who suffered an injury during a training session with Sandvikens IF in August of this year, is expected to be on the sideline for a long period.
The defensive midfielder has been facing injury setbacks that continue to hammer his football career in Europe.
He has been off and on with injury which makes him not to be regular for the club this season.
Mukunzi featured 9 times this campaign for Sandvikens IF clocking a total of 217 minutes under his belt.
The former Rayon Sports midfielder’s football season has ended due to his knee surgery.
With no specific time frame for his return, it is obvious that Mukunzi’s absence from the pitch will last up to three months or more and it could run into the climax of the Swedish Superettan league season that ends on November 9, 2024.
