The Democratic Republic of the Congo born, coach Andy Mfutila who coached APR FC and Rayon Sports in Rwanda, has passed away at the age of 62.
Mfutila died at the Kinshasa University Hospital on Friday, July 21, 2023, due to an illness he had been in the Hospital for many days since last Sunday, July 16, 2023.
He was famous in Rwanda, where he coached APR FC in 2007/2008 and they won treble including league title, Peace Cup and the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
He coached also Rayon Sports in 2014.
Since May this year, Mfutila has been part of the TP Mazembe Coaches’ team and he was with them in the 2009 CAF Champions League campaign.
These are not the only teams that Mfutila has coached as he has gone through AS Vital Club, Saint-Éloi Lupopo, Don Bosco and the National Team of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
