Rwanda Premier League leaders Rayon Sports fell to a shocking defeat at the weekend when they lost their second game of the season to Mukura Victory Sports F.C at Amahoro Stadium on the MatchDay 22.
Having shown mastery thus far this season, Rayon Sports was once again defeated by Mukura, who defeated them 2-1 in the first leg at Huye Stadium.
The loss left the Rayon Sports fans in utter shock, and it was a disappointing night for the team.
League leader Rayon Sports were notwilling to drop their unbeaten streak, but a gritty Mukura team was too hard on Saturday.
Despite Rayon Sports having stunning performance and creating some scoring opportunities, they could not convert their chances and eventually paid the price.
The game was decided in the 76th minute when Ayilara Samson scored to break the stalemate, scoring the lone goal and claiming it for Mukura FC.
The loss makes it more difficult for Rayon Sports’ title aspirations as second-placed APR, who have a game in hand against Vision Football, can cut the gap to one point with a victory.
Rayon Sports, who have 46 points after 22 games, top the table four points above APR, who can reduce that margin if they take the win in their next game.
