Meet Rwandan youngster Claude Kayibanda who plays for Luton Town

Claude Kayibanda born on May 28, 2006, is a British-born Rwandan defender who plays for Luton Town Under-21 in England.

Kayibanda was born to Rwandan parents in England and is currently carrying on his football development with the youth side of the English Championship team.

The youngster joined Luton Town FC Academy at the age of 12 in 2018 having previously been playing for Focus Football.

He featured for Hatters at the U13 level, with the center-half playing for the U18s in the FA Youth Cup during that season.

The defender also featured for the U21s as well, involved in the club’s 2-1 victory at Fulham U21s, finding the net as Luton’s youngsters beat Norwich City 3-1 as well.

Due to his impressive performance with Luton Town U12, Kayibanda along with seven other players where promoted and signed a professional development contract.

Kayibanda put pen to paper on September 4, 2024, on a development contract with Luton Town and will be looking forward to making a head wave at the club.

The youngster who can also play as a defensive midfielder, is yet to be capped by both countries at youth level, meaning he eligible to play for Rwanda and England.

“I’m a versatile player who can play in many roles as a defender and midfielder. I work hard in and out of possession and lead the team with my communication skills. I see myself as a strong and aggressive player on the pitch,” the youngster told the club’s media.
