The future of Rwanda in Karate is promising because these days there are many children learning from it and you can see that they loves it.
“We have never started Karate like this. Today’s children have a lot of opportunities, the federation administration and the national administration are promoting the sport in a way that gives hope that in the coming days we will get medals at the African level and at the level of the World.” He added
The President of FERWAKA, Niyongabo Damien, emphasis that organizing this event is one of the ways to build the foundation of Karate in Rwanda and they are happy that even parents understand it.
“This training is important for us because it is where we raise children or athletes who will represent the country in the coming days. We are lucky that parents will understand and bring their children. We start from the ground up and prepare the athletes as the President of the Republic recently said.” He added
Igaba Marc, 11 years old, who has been playing Karate for a year, is one of the children who participated in this training. He said that this game helps him a lot including being polite.
“I have a Green Belt and I have learned to be polite. I have a good level in Kumite. Today we learned how we can be friends with our colleagues, polite and so on.” He said
One of the parents whose children play Karate, Karamba Jean Claude, said that this sport has helped his two children a lot, and he asks other parents to give their children time to participate in sports.
“Karate is polite sport and you can see that they follow it. The other thing is that they are taught to respect, and in school they get good grades. A child who goes to sports helps him to have a good life, he gets something to do instead of going to other things that are not useful”. He urges
FERWAKA expects that in September there will be a Karate competition at the national level so that the childrens will put into practice what they have learned.
