Rwanda Football National Team head coach Torsten Frank Spittler said he was happy to get a point against a strong team like Nigeria, which has world-class players that are playing in the top league in Europe.
According to him, the draw was important for his team, and that showed how confident and good his team was during the entire 90 minutes of play.
Torsten Frank Spittler told sports journalists during a post-match conference that it was a big achievement for Rwanda and the players to play out to a draw against a formidable Nigerian team.
“I’m very happy not only because of the result but also the way we played. It was a good game, and we did our best and got the needed result,s, which I think was good,” Spittler said.
” The Nigerian attacking arm was better than ours because they are all world-class. We had few chances but could not make good use of them; they also have chances too and you could see the difference between our strikers and the Nigerian strikers, ” Spittler told reporters after the game.
The draw against Nigeria increases Amavubi of Rwanda points to two from two matches, while the Super Eagles of Nigeria sit atop the group with 4 points from the same number of games.
