This Wednesday, June 7, 2023, the Men’s National Team left Kigali to Nairobi, Kenya, where they participate in the Continental Cup T-20 Africa.
This competition will be attended by 4 countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Botswana and Rwanda, which will start on Thursday 09 up to 21 June 2023.
When the Board of the Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) presented them the National Flag, the National Team Captain, Rubagumya Clinton, said that they are well prepared, and will give everything to perform well. but the matters is the Ticket to the World Cup.
“We are well prepared because we are constant preparations, all we need is an opportunity to prove ourselves. So we have seen that even though the main thing is the November’s competition to get a Ticket to the World Cup that will be held in Namibia, these games will show us where we stand.”
“We are ready to welcome a new Coach, Jonathan Lee, and he is someone who knows Rwanda because he coached us when we’re young. So there will be no difficulties for us. We promise a good results ahead”. He added
During his stay in Rwanda in 2007, Jonathan Lee trained some Coaches includes; Bugingo Kenneth Bryson assistant in the Women’s National Team and Adelin Tuyizere, the Assistant in Men’s National Team.
After this tournament, from November 20 to December 01, 2023, this team will also play the World Cup qualifiers held in the West Indies and the USA in June 2024.
