With Nine players have been named in coach Frank Spittler’s 26-man provisional squad for their upcoming CHAN game against Djibouti, APR FC dominates this squad.
APR players dominate the list put up by the coach, Gilbert Byiringiro, Claude Niyomugabo, Yunusu Nshimiyimana, Clement Niyigena, Jean Bosco Ruboneka, Ramadan Niyibizi, Arsene Tuyisenge, Gilbert Mugisha and Olivier Dushimirimana all earning call ups to the home-based national team.
The Amavubi squad list comprises four goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders and eight attackers will play Djibouti in the first round of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifiers which is scheduled for October 27 and the second leg on the 31 of October in Kigali.
Rwanda will be hoping to return to continental football since they last participated in the CHAN finals in 2021 in Cameroon where they reached the quarter-finals.
The winner of the first preliminary round will take on the winner between Kenya and South Sudan in the second round late in December.
