Rwandan Premier League club, APR FC has been eliminated from the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League by Pyramids FC of Egypt.

APR FC lost 3-1 in the second leg of the second preliminary round on a 4-2 aggregate on Saturday, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg played at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

The club’s journey in this year’s CAF Champions League ended after a defeat in their fourth meeting against Pyramids.

Chibi, ‘F. Mayele and K. Hafez scored the three goals for Pyramids to propel them to the CAF Champions League group stage.

The 22-time Rwanda Premier League champion’s poor record against North African teams continues as they struggle in CAF competition to pursue their long-standing dream of making it to the group stage.

APR FC has met 7 different clubs from North Africa in continental competitions and the results haven’t been encouraging.

They won two, drew two and lost eight in their last eleven meeting against the North African clubs.

APR FC will now shift their attention to the Rwandan Premier League since making it to the group stage of the CAF Champions seems to be a tough task for them.
