The 5th in-arrow Rwandan Premier League Champions APR FC will battle the Pyramids FC of Egypt this weekend in the second preliminary round of the first leg of the CAF Champions League at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.
The game will be the third meeting between both clubs in the competition following their previous meeting last season in a two-leg encounter which saw the Egyptian side winning on a 6-1 aggregate.
APR FC drew the first leg goalless in Rwanda and lost heavily away in Egypt to the Pyramids in a seven-goal thriller.
The match on Saturday seems to be a tough encounter as APR will be hoping to get revenge and end their poor record against the North African clubs, which could benefit players and fans of the club.
The twenty two-time Rwandan Premier League Champions have to do better in the first leg and aim for all the points to put them ahead of the second leg.
APR FC have not been lucky against North African clubs as their last ten meetings weren’t encouraging.
Out of the ten meetings against a club from North Africa, they lost seven, drew one and won twice.
APR FC progressed to the second round of the competition following their 2-1 aggregate win over Tanzanian side Azam in the two legs.
