APR have narrowed the gap on table leaders Rayon Sports to just two points at the summit of the Rwanda Premier League after securing all three points on Sunday over Police FC.
APR triumphed 3-1 in a tough match played at the Pele Stadium, thanks to a goal from Hakim Kiwanuka and two goals from Djibril Ouattara.
The win was vital for APR’S as it boosts their title chase hope in the Rwanda Premier League.
Elsewhere, title hopefuls Rayon Sports were held goalless by Gasogi United, making it difficult for their title quest.
Rayon Sports goalless draw placed pressure on them, as they have to find ways of getting back to winning ways in order to fend off APR’s challenge, who are close behind.
Rayon Sports currently lead the league with 42 points from 19 games, and APR sit second with 40 points from 19 games.
However, the closeness of points between the two teams make it difficult for one to take a wild guess about who will be likely to lift the trophy at the end of the current season.
As the competition enters its climax phase, the remaining games are likely to be full of action as APR and Rayon Sports are still battling for the championship.
The supporters and the fans of the two teams are eagerly waiting to see what the remaining games will bring because every dropped or gained point is likely to have a significant impact on the title race.
