Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Football Club on Sunday clinched a 2-1 win over Vision FC to reduce the margin to a single point from league leaders Rayon Sports, who suffered 1-0 defeat at home to Mukura on Saturday.
Djibril and Mamadou Sy scored for APR’s, scoring the two goals in the 20th and 84th minutes, respectively, to gain an important three points and revive their championship ambitions.
With only one point between both teams, the battle for the Rwanda Premier League title is on.
Rayon Sports have 46 points after 22 matches, and APR have 45 points from an equal number of games.
APR FC will look to build on the momentum of their win over Vision FC, while Rayon Sports will need to bounce back from their loss to Mukura if they are to remain top.
With not much time remaining for the games to be held, every point will matter in deciding the Rwanda Premier League title.
The supporters will be eager to see an exciting end to the season with the title contest building up as one of these two sides goes on to clinch the 2024-25 title.
