The Rwandan National Football Team ‘Amavubi’, held its first training session on Monday in preparation for their upcoming double header AFCON qualifiers match with Benin
Rwanda started their 2025 AFCON campaign with a draw in their first two games against Libya and Nigeria in Group D.
Coach Torsten Frank Spittler and his boys will be hoping to get their first three points in the group when they take on Benin on October 11, 2024, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire at the Felix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium.
The Rwanda National team showed decent performances in their last two games played and were able to earn two points.
The Amavubi drew 1-1 with Libya in Tripoli and then goalless with the Super Eaglle of Nigeria in Kigali, Rwanda.
Rwanda sits in third position in Group D with two points, having recorded two draws and will battle second place in Benin, which sits second with three points.
The Amavubi third and Fourth match against Benin in the qualifications will determine their faith if they are to progress from that Group.
Coach Tpittler and his squad will continue with their work in progress before leaving for the first leg.
