Mohamed Salah drops bombshell after Liverpool beat Man City

Mohamed Salah has confessed he approached Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday believing it will be his last meeting with the Cityzens at Anfield.

The Egyptian is nearing the final six months of his contract and recently revealed he was “disappointed” not to have been offered an extension at this point in the season, describing himself as “more out than in” – comments which saw him branded “selfish” by Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

After scoring from the penalty spot in Sunday’s win, Salah once again sent shockwaves around the fanbase.

“It’s very special,” he told Sky Sports. “I don’t take it for granted. I’m enjoying every minute here, it feels like home, so it’s a special feeling always, scoring at Anfield and winning games.”

Asked whether it could be his final meeting with City at Anfield, Salah confessed: “Honestly it’s in my head. Until now, this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it.

“The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.”

Manager Arne Slot has repeatedly hailed Salah for not being distracted by his off-field situation, but fans are growing increasingly concerned as the end of the calendar year approaches, with Salah soon able to speak to overseas clubs about a free transfer.
