The Spaniard, Carlos Alós Ferrer, who was the coach of the National team of Rwanda ‘Amavubi’, resigned from these duties after only four months of extended the contract for two years.

The 47-year-old Spaniard has been in charge of the National team since March 2022 on a one-year deal.

On the morning of Tuesday, August 8, 2023, he resigned from the Rwanda Football Federation ‘FERWAFA’ through a message he wrote on Instagram, saying that he is going to start a new project, and he wishes Amavubi good luck in the future.

Two weeks ago, Carlos Ferrer asked FERWAFA to terminate the contract for personal reasons despite other reports that he has found work elsewhere.

In the new two-year contract, Carlos Alós Ferrer had signed in March but started counting in April, including that he had to help the National Team get the ticket for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The fact that he didn’t do it before the Senegal game in September was one of the reasons he could have been fired.

One of the leaders of FERWAFA, who spoke to IGIHE, said that Carlos “found that he had a bad performance, and decided to leave”.

After the election of the new Executive Committee of FERWAFA in June, 24, Carlos Ferrer first wanted to know if they feel him enough to believe that they are safe and continue to work together.

In July, Carlos Ferrer left Rwanda to go on vacation.

In the 12 games he has coached for the National Team, he has won one of the five friendlies, drawn five of them including three of the competition while he has lost six including four of the competition.

In all, Amavubi conceded four goals and conceded 13.
