Harry Maguire set to be axed as Man Utd captain even if he snubs transfer away with Bruno Fernandes set for armband as soon as possible.

Maguire have started in only six games of premier league last season, while holding club’s armband.

Bruno Fernandes, team skipper in the second half of last season, looks likely to get the full-time role.

United have returned in Champions league which can result into pleasure in Ten Hag’s decisions.

Ten Hag will speak to his squad in few days and Armband is expected to be one of the topic.

30 years Maguire still have 2 years in his contract with Manchester United After costing the club £85m from Leicester in 2019.

There was interest from West Ham and a loan move was snubbed in January, while Spurs and Newcastle have been linked to bids.

United have to sell some of the squad to cover the big buys like Mason Mount from Chelsea for £55m, but the takeover saga is also ruining Hag’s plans.

Talking to The Times about Maguire’s place in the squad at the end of last season, Ten Hag said: “Yes, but he has high competition there with Raphael Varane [at centre back], who’s fantastic. That describes everything.

“No one would be happy with this situation [on the bench].

This clears the fact that The club is willing to secure £200,000 weekly wage of Maguire if they finds the buyer.

Maguire’s spot in England is at risk if he is out of the first team.
